Embodied Energy and Embodied GWP of Windows: A Critical Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
The construction sector is one of the most energy-intensive in industrialized countries. In order to limit climate change emissions throughout entire life cycle a building, addition reducing energy consumption operational phase, attention should also be paid embodied and CO2 building itself. purpose this work review data on GWP derived from EPDs different types windows, identify LCA phases, impacting materials processes an environmental point view perform critical analysis outcomes. results show strong dependence typology frame, with wooden windows having competitive performances: lower average primary non-renewable (1123 MJ/FU), higher renewable (respectively 817 MJ/FU) global warming potential (54 kgCO2eq/FU). More transparency standardization information conveyed by program operators is, however, desirable for better comparability performances. particular, inclusion impact EPD sporadic, but strongly important, since it can impactful phase.

A Critical History of the Embodied Cognitive Research Paradigm A review of Lawrence Shapiro’s Embodied Cognition
Embodied Cognition by Lawrence Shapiro is a fine text that focuses on the issues of body, embodiment, and the environment in cognitive science, philosophy, and psychology. As the title suggests, Shapiro's book offers us a glimpse into the broadly defined, and still growing, research paradigm known as "embodied" cognition. Within this particular paradigm the body and environment are placed in th...

This paper provides an overview of evolutionary robotics techniques applied to on-line distributed evolution for robot collectives – namely, embodied evolution. It provides a definition of embodied evolution as well as a thorough description of the underlying concepts and mechanisms. The paper also presents a comprehensive summary of research published in the field since its inception (1999-201...
متن کاملAre Older Adults Less Embodied? A Review of Age Effects through the Lens of Embodied Cognition
Embodied cognition is a theoretical framework which posits that cognitive function is intimately intertwined with the body and physical actions. Although the field of psychology is increasingly accepting embodied cognition as a viable theory, it has rarely been employed in the gerontological literature. However, embodied cognition would appear to have explanatory power for aging research given ...
متن کاملEmbodied cognition and mirror neurons: a critical assessment.
According to embodied cognition theories, higher cognitive abilities depend on the reenactment of sensory and motor representations. In the first part of this review, we critically analyze the central claims of embodied theories and argue that the existing behavioral and neuroimaging data do not allow investigators to discriminate between embodied cognition and classical cognitive accounts, whi...
